Appointment Availability AND Finanacial resources accepted

Dr. Ware and Atlanta Family Psychiatry, Inc. continue to accept both private pay as well as clients who choose to use third party (insurance companies) pay resources. Dr. Ware continues to be one of the very few if any Child, Adolescent, Adult and Family Psychiatrists that will spend 2-3 hours face to face with a new client (including insurance clients). While Insurance companies pay 3-4 times more to providers if the provider will spend less than an hour with a client (e.g. 10-15 minutes), it is Dr Ware's opinion that a 10-15 minute session is entirely inadequate.

Due to the extremely poor reimbursement rate from third party resources (for adequate length visits), our huge referral volume, and the need to maintain the quality of services offered, AFPI has found it necessary to manage the number of insurance clients being served at any one time. If the potential client chooses to use insurance as their financial resource they may have to wait at times as much as 2-3 months or longer for an initial appointment. AFPI continues to welcome insurance clients and regrets any wait for services that may be necessary. If the insured client chooses to use AFPI services for their family we are pleased to receive emails concerning their interest. When the practice can serve their needs the client will be contacted. Appointments are offered on a first come first served basis at that point.

Office hours are scheduled from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM Monday through Thursday
and from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM on Friday.

Office hours are by appointment only.

Services

First time clients are seen for an evaluation which usually takes two to three one hour meetings at the conclusion of which intervention/treatment recommendations are made and when appropriate implemented.

Services that are available are individual assessments for children, adolescents and adults. Parent counseling is provided as a supportive component of working with youth of all ages. For youth, active collaboration with other care providers (family or pediatric physicians, teachers, psychologists or other therapists, and probation officers) is essential.

Other services include individual psychotherapy for adults, marital counseling, and family therapy as indicated. Stabilization of present problems is a primary focus for all clients. Lengths of treatment vary from a few sessions to ongoing monitoring of stabilized patients. While satisfaction cannot be assured, this practice is committed to quality service in support of your growth and enrichment.
